“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you are going to mess it up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up… So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.” – Marilyn Monroe

Spring Beauty Trends

We may still be in the middle of Fall/Winter fashion weeks, but it’s hard not to look forward to spring! Thankfully, last week I was invited to an event at Neiman Marcus where we previewed the spring beauty trends and learned about the latest products and technologies from your favorite beauty and skincare lines. I love all the pinks, rose golds, bright oranges and amazing new skincare products out there!

1. Deborah Lippmann nail polish / 2. Valentino Valentina fragrance / 3. Chantecaille coral reefs palette / 4. Lancome Visionnaire / 5. Laura Mercier palette / 6. ReVive moisturizing eye cream / 7. Bobbi Brown shimmer brick compacts / 8. Chanel nail polish / 9. Le Metier de Beaute nail polish and lip gloss / 10. Balenciaga Paris fragrance / 11. Sisley tanning gel

I love everything by Deborah Lippman, so it was fun to learn about the new 3D holographic nail lacquers that will premier this summer. I tried the Ray of Light shade and also love the Sweet Dreams one for spring! Chanel and Le Metier de Beaute also have some amazing nail polish colors for spring, along with matching glosses. Le Metier’s are all about bright primary colors and bold neons, while Chanel has more candy-colored polish for spring.

And there are some new, fun colors for your face this spring, with Bobbi Brown’s new “Rose Gold” collection (inspired by her rose gold wedding band), Laura Mercier’s “Lingerie” collection (inspired by soft romantic colors and fabrics of the Victorian Age), and Chantecaille’s “Coral Reefs” palette (of which 5% of the proceeds will be donated to Marine Conservation Institute). Lots of beautiful options!

Then, there’s skincare – I’m particularly loving ReVive’s moisturizing renewal eye cream (key post-Fashion Week), Lancome’s Visionnaire skin corrector, and Sisley’s self tanning gel (which I’ll need before I get some color of my own this spring). I also just tried Chanel’s “Le Blanc” collection of products, which are designed to make your complexion more radiant, and somehow makes my skin softer than ever!

And last but not least, you don’t want to forget a new spring fragrance. The new Valentino Valentina (so beautiful) and Balenciaga Paris fragrances were my favorites, though I’m also still loving Prada Candy and the fragrances from Cartier.

Online now and in stores Thursday, be sure to check out Neiman Marcus for their beauty event! Trust me, you’ll love all the new spring beauty products! Now, who’s ready for warmer weather?
