With winter (mostly) behind us, it’s a perfect time to reevaluate your skincare regimen and get your skin back in shape for spring. Go through the products you have, throw out those that are expired, and stock up on some new ones! I know I could use a major haul at Sephora – so here are some products I swear by and some I’m dying to try! Some of them you may have seen me talk about before. But that’s just because I really do love them (*caugh* Kate Somerville, Dr. Dennis Gross, *caugh*).
1. Murad clarifying mask / 2. Murad clarifying cleanser / 3. ReVive cleanser
4. Giorgio Armani regenerator / 5. Kate Somerville EradiKate / 6. Clarisonic brush heads
7. Dr. Dennis Gross moisturizer / 8. Laura Mercier lip silk / 9. DermaDoctor KP Duty
10. Dr. Dennis Gross alpha beta glow pads / 11. Kate Somerville true lash
As you may know, my biggest concern is dealing with sensitive yet acne-prone skin. Right now, I wake up in the morning, use a toner to clean my face (I should probably actually wash it, but sometimes
don’t have time worry about over washing), a light lotion, and apply makeup (foundation or tinted moisturizer + bronzer + mascara + eyeliner + chapstick as I’m running out the door). At night, I use my Clarisonic to clean my face and Kate Somerville to remove eye makeup, apply my Dr. Dennis Gross moisturizer and the acne spot treatment du jour (need to try EradiKate, but I also love Neutrogena rapid clear spot gel). I maybe put on an eye cream if I remember (I use this Kate Somerville one, but this one is cheaper). But usually I just brush my teeth and drop into bed.
For facewash, I really love this ReVive cleanser – it smells and feels great. But it’s pricey. So I also recommend this Origins foaming face wash (seriously foamy, and minty) or, honestly, I just use a drugstore face wash. I do really want to try the Murad face wash and clarifying mask, after they were recommended by Lara. And I use a Clarisonic, but I have mixed feelings about it. I like it, but I don’t love it (and at one point I swear it made me break out more). After reading this post from Capitol Hill Style, I decided I want to try new brush heads. Maybe that will help.
Lastly, two important products I use as needed: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta glow pads and DermaDoctor’s KP Duty. The glow pads are an exfoliate, self-tanner and anti-aging product in one. So great. And I’m not sure if anyone else has this, but I have those “chicken-skin” bumps on my arms (aka Keratosis pilaris) and I’ve never found anything that makes them as smooth as the KP Duty body scrub. Seriously. It does wonders.
Anything else I should look into? Is there a skincare product you swear by? Do share!
