On Saturday, for the fourth year in a row, I spent my day at the Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase races in The Plains, Virginia. This year was especially fun as I was a judge for the hat contest along with my friends and fab bloggers Caitlin and Makeda! There were so many amazing hats! Check out my photos from the contest and my tailgate below!

Love all the fun hats! I need to go to a race or something one of these days just so I can wear a fascinator.
What a stylish event! You looked fantastic!
Oh this looks like so much fun! I will definitely have to make it there next year! Loved your bright orange!
We paused in our Saturday-Getting-Ready-To-Go-Out preparations to watch the Derby. There is just *something* about a horse race. Everyone is glued to the action.
And I just *need* to find a reason to wear a hat with plumage. NOW.
Great pics! Thanks for posting. You happened to include a shot of me (I am in the brown polka dot dress)! Gold Cup is one of my favorite events of the year.
