“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you are going to mess it up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up… So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.” – Marilyn Monroe

Style Inspiration: Burgundy

Over the next eight weeks, I’ll be starting off the week with a “Style Inspiration” post in partnership with Intel, where I share photos that spotlight what inspires me throughout my day. As a blogger, it’s important to not only be inspired, but to also have the right tools and accessories to get through the day – Intel’s new Ultrabook™ is a must-have (I love mine) and I’m so excited to work with them on this short series! This week’s style inspiration spotlight is on the color burgundy. Continue reading for more about how it inspires me!

Burgundy, shades of plum and bordeaux are the perfect colors for fall (burgundy berries and leaves, burnt orange pumpkins – SO fall). At New York Fashion Week in February, there was plenty of burgundy and deep saturated colors on the runway (here’s my Tibi recap for an example). I’m also loving burgundy accessories, nails, and lips. Remember all the beautiful dark lips at the Met Ball? As much as I love the neon and pastels that are everywhere these days, when fall comes around you can bet I’ll be wearing lots of burgundy and plum. And maybe some bordeaux colored shorts to ease into the season?

What do you think? Are you loving burgundy or plum? Or is there another color that is inspiring you right now?
