Toka Salon Blowout

Last week, I visited Toka Salon & Day Spa to chat with founder Nuri Yurt about the salon’s new ‘Express Blowout’ program, Washington women, and what he loved most about hair styling (oh, and did I mention I also got a fab blowout?). Nuri Yurt opened the flagship Toka Salon in DC in 1997. Since then, he’s styled countless Washington women, First Ladies, and other high-powered professionals. Given the women he works with, he described his style as “clean-cut but updated,” and when I asked him what it was he loved about hair styling, he replied, “everything from A to Z,” (though he admitted to loving a hair “challenge”). Thankfully, he had no trouble with mine and I got a fab blowout in no time at all. In fact, Toka Salon now offers blowouts at all three DC locations (Georgetown, Penn Quarter, and Alexandria) for just $40 and 20 minutes or less.
