“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you are going to mess it up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up… So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.” – Marilyn Monroe

Summer Getaway Style

Remember when I said I had a couple fun projects to share? Well first up, I’m happy to announce that I was choosen as this month’s “Guest Scouter” for the Washington Post’s DC Scout! You can find my post on “Late-Summer Getaway Style” here (or click the image below), and join me and the DC Scout team for drinks at the Lincoln Restaurant on Thursday, August 9th, to celebrate! More info below!

Each week during the month of August, DC Scout is partnering with a DC-area restaurant for amazing drink specials all week long! First up, is LINCOLN Restaurant, where the DC Scout exclusive price is $5.00 for either a Gettysburg Address (Square One Botanical, Veev Acai Spirit, Ginger syrup, Lemon-sour mix, Swedish herb bitters, garnish with microgreens) or a Lady LINCOLN (Beefeater 24 gin, St.Germain elderflower liquor, La Marca Prosecco, garnish with lavender sprig). SIGN UP HERE and join me and the DC Scout team on Thursday, August 9th from 6-8PM!

Get more information, and find out what other bars are participating this month, here!

Also, be sure to check out my guest post on Cupcakes for Breakfast, where I’m sharing some Midwest vacay style ideas (and some fun facts about my childhood). How appropriate that the day I’m dashing off to good old Wisco, I’m posting on Nikki’s blog while she is in the state too!
