Last night, I went to my first Cirque du Soleil performance, and I just had to share a few photos! The show is back in Washington with its touring production TOTEM, for a limited engagement under the blue-and-yellow Big Top at the Plateau at National Harbor. It was such an amazing experience and I’d absolutely recommend anyone in the DC area to see it when you can!
Written and directed by Robert Lepage, TOTEM traces the fascinating journey of the human species from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly. Throughout the show, I was in complete awe of all the visuals, the acrobatics, and the music. It’s incredible that anyone can do some of the things these performers do! Plus, it was actually really funny in parts – absolutely entertaining.
Tickets for TOTEM can be purchased at any time online via www.cirquedusoleil.com/totem or at the Cirque du Soleil box office, located inside the entrance tent at National Harbor (regular box office hours are from 2 hours prior to show time until 30 minutes after the beginning of the show from Wednesday through Sunday).

Wow, this looks like an amazing show! Wish I was in DC!
Great show, great company! Plus, I got to eat an orchid. Which was new and unusual… but fun!
