I promise this is the last NYFW post I’m planning, and definitely the last time you’ll hear me talk about spring collections until, well, spring! But I thought I’d quickly wrap things up before moving on entirely – you can catch all my NYFW coverage here, including Christian Siriano, Mara Hoffman, Rebecca Minkoff and more! I also attended the Son Jung Wan, Herve Leger and Catherine Malandrino shows, but as my camera had died, figured I’d leave the reviews to the pros. Needless to say, it was a fantastic and crazy busy few days. Below are some of my highlights, plus my favorite spring 2013 trends!
Huge thanks to Kara for being my partner-in-crime and NYFW roomie all week! It was also amazing to hang with Megan at the Glam dinner and a few shows – she is seriously the sweetest! And I had a blast with Sara, Cheralee, Natalie, Carlis and Casie (all DC fashion bloggers!) as well as Alyson and Victoria – such a pleasure to finally meet these two ladies! PS – I loved Cheralee’s photos of DC ladies at NYFW!

While there was nothing groundbreakingly new as far as trends go (except perhaps the harnesses), lots of great spring trends emerged after the week. My favorites include leather for spring (black, tan, white, you name it), bold stripes, metallics and shine, floral and watercolor prints, bra tops (lots of cropped tops with high-waisted bottoms – another example here), plus lots of whites (and white + black combos) and lots of lace. There were also plenty of cutouts and sporty looks, and peplum and pastels seem to be sticking around. So, after all that… anything in particular you are looking forward too? Or not?

Hmmm I don’t know if I’ll jump on the harness train, but pretty watercolor prints? Definitely!
I am so glad leather will be sticking around, and I loved seeing it in flirtier shapes and bold colors. I can definitely do without the no pants look that made its debut in several shows. Not for me.
you always make the best collages!
Ah, I love the picture of us, you’re going to have to send it over! I seriously missed you after our shows together :(…
Who’s ready for Feb!? :D
i had such a blast with you too! i can’t wait to do it again:) xo

[...] Back in September, I predicted stripes would be big for spring. And recently Refinery29 agreed with me: “Yes, vertical, horizontal, thick, skinny, or diagonal—it seems it will soon be impossible to escape this classic-yet-of-the-moment print.” I mean, you really can’t go wrong, right? Even in this colder weather! [...]
