Spring Skincare Products

Yes, it did just snow yesterday, but hopefully spring will be here (weather-wise) before we know it. Regardless, last week I shared some of my favorite beauty products for spring that will have you feeling spring-like even if it’s still cold! But even before you put your makeup on, you’ll want to make sure your skin is ready. I’ve never had the best skin (dry but acne prone is a not fun combo), but I can honestly say that these last few months I’ve found a routine that has my skin in the best shape ever.

First, I wash my face at night with Neutrogena’s pink grapefruit cleanser and my Clarisonic (using the acne-specific brush heads). Then, I use a toner - not everyone needs a toner but I like to use one in the evening to help remove excess oils and dead skin cells left behind after washing. After that, and before a moisturizer, I’ve started using a serum or treatment. Specifically, I’m loving Perricone MD’s Blue Plasma, which is a non-acidic daily peel you just leave on to help with dull, fatigued skin and enlarged pores. This has seriously helped my skin feel softer and look brighter without any irritation, which is huge. It’s no secret I’m a loyal fan of Perricone MD products, and this new product is another favorite.

I finish my nighttime routine with a great moisturizer – Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream has saved my wintry dry skin – and any acne spot treatments that are necessary. This is also the perfect time for a teeth whitening treatment, and Rembrandt has some great new products out.

Other products that are great to get ready for spring include fresh’s clay mask (which can double as a cleanser), Kate Somerville’s eye repair cream (a long time fave of mine) and Perricone MD’s no sun tanner. Also, Dr. Dennis Gross makes a great oil-free daytime moisturizer, which I use on clean skin under my primer and before my makeup.

Have you tried any great new products lately? Doing anything different to get your skin ready for spring? I’d love to hear!
