“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you are going to mess it up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up… So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.” – Marilyn Monroe

Red Carpet Trends at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls

If you read this post, you know that my favorite trends from the Oscars were all the black and whites/neutrals (of course), which is also one of my favorite looks for spring (see here for proof). I especially loved the fitted and flared dress on Charlize, so with the red carpet trends and that dress in mind, I went to the  T.J. Maxx in Georgetown on a search for something black and flouncy.

Thankfully, I found this amazing designer skirt (my all-time fave designer, no less!) and a flowy silk top (coincidentally in the same color as Lupita’s gown)! There were also lots of great neutral tops along with light and airy designer dresses and embellishments perfect for any red carpet… or sidewalk. And full skirts are very much on trend this spring (see this post for proof) so I know this one will get lots of wear. Plus, I paired it with a designer handbag and nude heels also from T.J. Maxx. Did you notice that Charlize’s dress actually had nude straps? Basically, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls have you covered this spring (you know I love them). Now, please just let the weather cooperate!
