Black Swan

Last week, after a lot of commotion and rave reviews, I went to see Black Swan – and have been unable to stop thinking about it since. It was such a dark, forceful film, and yet, so very beautiful. With costumes designed by Rodarte (40 pieces including the tutus, leotards and even legwarmers) and a gorgeous cast (Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey), that’s not surprising – what was surprising, was the dramatic and haunting intensity that accompanied it, supported by Tchaikovsky’s incredible score. If you have been thinking about seeing it, you must.
