Considering Loafers
I have to admit, I’m not 100% sold on loafers, but I feel like I’ve been seeing them everywhere! From the runway, to style bloggers, to Kate Moss, Nicole Richie, and Olivia Palermo… even the Man Repeller is on board, calling loafers “spring’s new brogue.” Of course, she also calls loafers an “opportunity to forfeit your license to bone while offering comfort to your feet.” But if Kate Moss is wearing them, they must be chic, right?

I’m almost always a heels girl – the higher the better. But if you’re looking for a comfortable alternative to your ballet flats, the loafer may be your perfect option!

At first, I thought not chic…but after seeing how all those girls were able to pull it off makes me think otherwise.
Pro loafer.
I know I was thinking the same! But I do love these looks!
I just can’t do it. I just can’t. I think it could work only with the right body, the right wardrobe, the right look. I don’t think enough women have all three.
Kate Moss is my hero, she can make the most unexpected things look so chic and effortless!
I see them in the shops and I think ew, but then I see them in the pics you have posted and they look so cool yet effortless. I’m torn too. I agree Allie, I think you need the right body type (Kate Moss) to really pull them off. Tempted to try though…
Kate Moss could make anything look chic, right? But I think it’s worth trying! Especially for my commute when I wear flats anyway. I don’t think they’ll replace my heels, but sometimes I need to give my feet a break!
Y’know, I think I prefer moccasins over loafers. Loafers are just a little too preppy for me, even if they are leopard print.
There’s nothing like a moccasin in a bright blue or red, though. :)
I agree w/ Moni – moccasin over loafer. Part of it may be I’m loathe to wear too many things I wore in my teens…or it might be that my long feet just look longer in loafers. Just not a fan.
[...] Slipper: Loafers were big last fall, and they’re not going anywhere this year, thankfully (I’ve loved them for forever, it seems)! Not quite sold? Try penny loafers or oxfords for lux-looking flats you can wear [...]
[...] there right now. I absolutely can’t get enough of those Gap loafers (for more on loafers, see this old post), and polka dotted heels? Perfect. Plus, flat ankle (“beatle”) booties, and amazing [...]
