Fashion Blogger Meetup At Carbon
Last night, fashion and beauty bloggers from all over the DC area met up at Carbon in Woodley Park to connect, catch up, and meet with like-minded bloggers and designers. Carbon, an eco-friendly boutique that’s provided Washingtonains with upscale, sustainable fashion since 2004, sells shoes, clothing, accessories and handbags by an array of amazing designers, many of whom were present at the event. I loved everything in the store – and as I discussed with one of the designers, it’s not just about being eco-friendly – everything was gorgeous regardless! But the fact it is sustainable is a fabulous plus!

I was so impressed by the designers and their products – shoes by Fidji, Gee WaWa and Gidigio, clothing by Kim Schalk, Auralis Studio, and gorgeous jewelry from Nora Fischer Designs and Melissa Lew. I especially loved the handbags by Diamantina, created by two friends (Luciana Gagliardi and Claudia Diamante) to provide job opportunities to skilled men and women in Argentina. Gingie Aujeanne McLeod of SAINTCHiC was also there – the designer has won rave reviews from The New York Times, WWD and Stylesight, and created a special eco-collection for Carbon with bold prints and eco-friendly inks. And a portion of proceeds of every garment sold in DC goes to The House of Ruth!
Gilded Vintage, Spicy Candy DC and Telena
Delicious cupcakes by Michelle and snacks from Pretzel Crisps!

I was thisclose to not coming because I thought no one will be there by the time I arrived. Well, people were still there… A LOT! For a minute, I thought it was the afterparty. Ha. Anywho, I had a blast. Thanks Liz and Lacey for the event. It was definitely a success.
It was a great evening! And I even picked up an adorable Liz Schalk wrap skirt. What’s not to love? :)
