Hu’s Brings Céline to DC

With a cool yet elegant interior and beautiful things everywhere you look, Hu’s Shoes and Hu’s Wear provided me with the perfect respite on a sweltering DC afternoon. Last week, I had the privilege of chatting with the lovely boutique employees along with owner Marlene Hu Aldaba about their newest addition – the Céline fall collection.

Exclusively at Hu’s Shoes and Hu’s Wear, this is the first time Céline will be available in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and it’s already attracted considerable attention. The fall collection is simply stunning – designer Phoebe Philo crafted luxurious pieces that are still incredibly wearable (much like everything else selected for Hu’s) including cashmere turtlenecks, statement coats and sleek trousers all in earthy, muted tones. Streamlined and modern but subtle enough to wear every day, it’s the perfect match for Washingtonian women.

Hu’s Shoes opened on Georgetown’s M Street with Hu’s Wear following just a few years later, only a block away. The boutiques carry high-end clothing, shoes and accessories that are fashion-forward but classic enough for every DC professional woman. They aren’t pieces you would pick up offhandedly – but are special, investment-worthy items. Some of my favorite pieces included the amazing Céline Luggage tote, a swoon-worthy Lanvin bag, Fendi booties, Givenchy pumps with zipper detailing and loads of cozy chunky knits.

The selection at Hu’s includes items like this beautiful Balenciaga bag, an Alexander McQueen shawl neck coat, Donna Karen Casual Luxe looks, and gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti booties. Other brands available at Hu’s include Alberto Fermani, Brian Atwood, Chloe, Dsquared2, Fendi, Isabel Marant, Proenza Schouler, The Row and more.

Be sure to check out Hu’s Shoes (3005 M Street NW) and Hu’s Wear (2906 M Street NW) in Georgetown for the most beautiful collection of clothing, shoes and accessories – even if you can’t walk away with everything in the store (I wanted to!) there are countless amazing pieces to admire!
