Fall Trends From Neiman Marcus
Over the weekend, I had a chance to meet with the team at Neiman Marcus in Tysons Corner about what to expect for fall. I tried to resist, but I’m officially excited for fall to hurry up and get here! Like last fall, ladylike style and sophisticated glamour will reign strong. Think sheaths, dresses with sleeves, ensemble dressing, cigarette pants, wide trousers and skirts with movement. Single sole pumps and handheld bags complement the polished trend perfectly. And the color of the season? Bordeaux! According to fashion director Ken Downing, “mix the hue with deep pinks and reds for a look that is very today.”
Bordeaux: Heidi Weisel wrap, Elie Tahari dress, Oscar de la Renta earrings,
Leather: Jason Wu dress, Piazza Sempione skirt, See by Chloe shorts
Fur: Henry Beguelin boots, Rachel Zoe vest, Alice + Olivia vest
I’m also really excited about gold jewelry sticking around (“more is more, less is a bore!”), leather separates (dresses, skirts, shorts, pants), and fur (a statement or just a touch). Shimmer (think a low-velocity sheen) is also a trend for fall – and colorblocking isn’t going anywhere yet. You can find all these trends in the home and in the makeup (the “fall face“) too. I’m not one for dark lips myself, but I have a feeling the bordeaux color will be big for lips and nails alike.
