Learning To Arrange

H.Bloom, a subscription-based floral delivery service that just launched in DC, hosted a flower arranging party at Room and Board last night to share their “Arrange Your Own” collection! St-Germain cocktails and DIY flower arranging? Talk about a fun evening!

Called the “Netflix of flowers,” H. Bloom delivers on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis starting at just $29. You can choose from different collections (classic, contemporary exotic) or for the DIY-inspired, you can create your own! The lovely H.Bloom team showed us how to arrange both a fall bouquet and a winter/holiday arrangement.

How did I do?! Want some tips for yourself? Check out their videos here. And if you are in the New York City, Chicago or DC metro areas, check out H.Bloom!

Also, while arranging your flowers (or for your Thanksgiving events), try this perfect fall cocktail – I absolutely loved it!

The Pear Tree

1.5 parts pear vodka
1.5 parts St-Germain
.5 part freshly squeezed lime juice
1 dash angostura bitters

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a slice of D’Anjou and a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg.

My mom has fresh flowers all over the house ALL the time, and only now do I realize what an effort that can be! What a great idea–looks like a fun time, too!

So fun – and that drink recipe sounds delish! Now I kind of want to throw a flower-arranging party myself! :)
