For my final gift guide, I wanted to share some ideas that would give to those in need – it really doesn’t take much and can make a big impact for someone. Give them something to smile about this holiday season and you’ll be smiling too!

- $15 to send a care package to a U.S. soldier
- $18 for three mosquito nets to prevent malaria
- $26 to put a child through an entire year of primary school in Chad
- $40 to care for AIDS orphans and widows (Gift No. 27)
- $50 for a full day of emergency shelter (three meals, two blankets, one cot and personal supplies for victims of disasters)
- $100 for a goat and two chickens

Great gift guide! A few years back I got a gift certificate for Kiva – a microlending enterprise that let’s you lend money to small businesses in the Third World. In true CapFabber style, I actually bypassed the small farmers and actually selected a woman in East Africa who sold hair products :)
