Mara Hoffman FW 2012
After a brief break on Saturday, I made my way back to the tents for Mara Hoffman. I was beyond excited about being invited and was looking forward to seeing her latest take on prints! As I watched the show, I couldn’t decide on the right description. At one point I tweeted, “western/safari/Mediterranean,” and then “South American/cowboy.” Turns out, the actual inspiration behind Mara Hoffman’s fall collection was “South American Shaman Cowboys.” And I loved it.
Mara Hoffman is known for her unique, vibrant prints, but I especially enjoyed the Southwest feel (I’ve loved Navajo prints for so long) and the bold, graphic looks. The flowy, feminine silk dresses were absolutely beautiful and the knits, like the cozy shawl-collar wrap coat and printed coatigan, looked perfect for chilly weekend afternoons – exactly what I wish I was wearing right now! Wide-brimmed hats and statement jewelry by All For The Mountain topped the looks off.

While I’m not normally a huge fan of color, Mara Hoffman’s clothes continually excite me and motivate me to add more prints to my wardrobe. I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can try and look this bohemian-cool!
