NYFW Power Players

I learned a lot from my first fashion week: Ed Westwick is just as pretty in person, at the shows stand near an aisle for a better chance to get pulled down for a seat, Pepsi One will never replace Diet Coke for me, Olivia Palermo is just as pretty in person, wear statement necklaces and a red lip to instantly increase your chances of getting photographed, a light wool coat will not keep you warm in a warehouse on the Hudson in February, Molly Sims is just as pretty in person, Whitney Port is just as pretty in person, even if your heels don’t cause blisters your back and feet will make you want to cry after 10 hours, don’t forget to grab the show program notes, McDonalds is an amazing place for people watching at 11PM, shows never start on time, everyone is pretty in person… I could go on.

I also learned how far a few key pieces can take you – I wore my black booties and Botkier bag everywhere! See below for some of my faves and the outfits I wore while I was there!

A few of my fashion week outfits!

If you missed anything, you can catch up on all my New York Fashion Week coverage here. I’m looking forward to lots of dark, menswear-inspired, interesting texture (velvet, sheer, leather, snakeskin, metallic), trends for fall – Christian Siriano went dark, Mara Hoffman and Tibi prints were amazing, Ruffian hair and makeup was perfection, Rebecca Minkoff had the best music and Rebecca Taylor was my favorite overall.

Very cute post. Your FW must have item list is nice. I’m heading down to Miami international Fashion Week in March and I can see some of these pieces translating well in South Florida.
