Outfit + Occasion: Girls’ Night Out
I’ve been planning for this new series (Outfit + Occasion) for a while so wanted to make sure the first post was perfect (note-to-self: Is anything ever perfect? Just push “publish,” already!). The plan is to feature a new occasion every couple weeks along with outfit ideas and tips, most likely from style experts more qualified than me. I decided to kick things off with one of the best occasions I could think of: the girls’ night out!

Posting the “girls’ night out” occasion today is perfect timing since I have a bachelorette party this weekend! And like Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power point out, it’s the perfect time to try something daring. For me, this would be peplum! But it could also be an outrageous party dress, fabulous heels, sequins, leather, a jumpsuit, statement colors, or those “man-repelling” trends you love! Need more ideas? Hillary and Katherine recommend a leather skirt + distressed concert tee + bright platforms, sparkly mini + solid semi-sheer tank + shrunken denim jacket, draped tank + body-con skirt + lace-up ankle boots, LBD + red lip + studded heels + leopard coat, or print pants + low cut top + strappy heels. So many ideas! Is there one you love? What is your go-to GNO outfit?

Love your new series, and agree… is anything ever “perfect?!” This is excellent, and adoring those ASOS heels and BaubleBar earings. Have to admit I’m not quite jumping on the peplum trend though I know so many are into it. Just feel like you have to be twiggy to really pull it off. Thoughts?
I’ve wondered this too, which is why I haven’t tried it yet – but I think I want to! Will let you know what I think!
Love this new series! My go-to GNO outfit is usually something my husband would usually balk at. Like you said, something Man Repelling. Perhaps paper-bag pants and leopard booties with a jacket. GNO is all about having fun with your ladies without worrying what men will think!
I love this new series. My usual girl’s night out go-to is skinny jeans and a flowy top. Sometimes I throw on a blazer. It’s time for me to take a risk, think I’ll wear shorts next time :-). Btw, would love it if you did a post on beach destination weddings. I have one coming up in May and have NO clue what to wear.
