Tiffany & Co. Rubedo
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the gorgeous necklace that came my way yesterday. What you may not know, is that it is in celebration of Tiffany’s 175th anniversary and features the new RUBEDO™ metal, which combines “the richness of gold, the brilliance of silver and the warmth of copper.” It’s beautiful!
To get the metal, metallurgists at Tiffany’s experimented with different ratios of gold, silver and copper over a long testing period until they achieved the desired golden-pink color and glow. The metal is also super lightweight (but durable) and polishes to a smooth shine. And it seems only proper in celebration of Tiffany’s anniversary year, they debuted it in Tiffany 1837™ designs, inscribed with the signature of founder Charles Lewis Tiffany.
In addition to the pendant necklace, one of my favorite pieces is the elongated cuff that incorporates the hallmark at the cuff’s edge – an absolutely gorgeous statement piece! I also love the bangles, available in interlocking circles or just as one.
If you’re interested in grabbing a celebratory piece for yourself, know that Tiffany 1837™ RUBEDO™ jewelry designs are available for 2012 only – find them at select Tiffany & Co. stores worldwide and at Tiffany.com now!

I love this color metal. I usually go for gold, but do like to mix metal colors (when done intentionally).
Thank you for clarifying what, exactly, Rubedo is. I saw it in magazines and read about it, but no one seemed to explain how it was made (and clearly Tiffany, however awesome, did not just find a new metal, haha).
That said, I LOVE IT OMG IT IS PINK. the end.
