SpicyCandyDC SMU Lookbook

If you are in the DC area, you likely already know the lovely ladies behind SpicyCandyDC – if not, you’re in for a treat. In addition to being incredibly sweet girls and talented bloggers, Carlis and Katya recently partnered with South Moon Under to produce a lookbook, which has me seriously craving a trip to the beach (and South Moon Under)! To celebrate the lookbook’s launch, they are throwing a release party on April 12th at the South Moon Under Clarendon Location. Dani Stahl, fashion editor, stylist and star of E! Network’s “Scouted” is coming to DC to show her support, so you know it will be one cool party! Where did the idea for the lookbook start?

When South Moon Under contacted us about doing the lookbook we had all these ideas on how we wanted to showcase their brand but the one that we both loved the most was going back to where it all started for them. We wanted to let people know where their story began and tell it in our own words, aka in our own styles! Ocean City was an easy choice since we both love the beach and have spent a lot of our summers on that boardwalk ;)

What do you love most about South Moon Under?

We love that they have a great mix of some of our favorite brands (Free People, J Brand, Rebecca Minkoff, to name a few) as well as great selection of styles, colors, and patterns.  It makes shopping/styling their stuff so much more fun because we get to mix and match and turn the outfits into whatever we want!  It’s nice to be able to shop for a boho, chic, dressy, or beachy outfit all in one place.  Oh and did we mention how awesome their accessory collection is?!  We seriously can’t get enough.

What trends are you excited to wear this summer?

Carlis: I’m excited for pastel colors and fun prints. You can prob tell from the lookbook video :) haha. Katya:  I am excited to embrace a little “flower power” as well as pastel color blocking this spring!

When are we stealing away for a weekend at the beach?! 

ASAP! We heart the beach and everything that comes with it ;)
