Wine Country
Last week (after a limo bus ride to Virginia wine country thanks to Reston Limos), I spent an evening with Urban Chic Boutique and some of my favorite DC area bloggers at Early Mountain Vineyards. It was an absolutely perfect night full of food, wine and shopping (and stunning scenery)!

I’d never been to this particular vineyard before, though I’ve always loved supporting Virginia wine. New owners Jean and Steve Case (former AOL executives) do too, and in fact, believe that Virginia has the “potential to compete with some of the best wine regions in the world.” So not only does Early Mountain feature a selection of Virginia wines from wineries across the state and local food from surrounding farms, but Early Mountain Vineyards is a social enterprise – all profits go back into the Virginia wine industry. How cool is that?
Urban Chic even had a mini boutique set up for us so we could shop lines like The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens (you know I love them from this post), J. Brand, Seven for all Mankind, Trina Turk, Shoshanna, Rebecca Minkoff and Hyla DeWitt. Sipping wine + shopping is always a good combo in my book.
Speaking of the wine, I absolutely loved the wines we sampled from Early Mountain and other local Virginia wineries, and the food was delicious. Of course, I bought a couple bottles before heading home – I just wish I would have brought some cheese and sausage back with me too!
