After a wonderful (and super wintry) Christmas in Wisconsin with my family, I’m back in DC and am gearing up for the new year (and new semester). I hope you had a great few weeks too! And just in case there are a few additional things you are hoping for this holiday season, there are plenty of sales to help out! My personal faves right now are J.Crew (extra 40% off sale), Old Navy (so many things!), Gap (extra 30% off sale), Ann Taylor and BaubleBar (can’t go wrong).

I learned a lot from my first fashion week: Ed Westwick is just as pretty in person, at the shows stand near an aisle for a better chance to get pulled down for a seat, Pepsi One will never replace Diet Coke for me, Olivia Palermo is just as pretty in person, wear statement necklaces and a red lip to instantly increase your chances of getting photographed, a light wool coat will not keep you warm in a warehouse on the Hudson in February, Molly Sims is just as pretty in person, Whitney Port is just as pretty in person, even if your heels don’t cause blisters your back and feet will make you want to cry after 10 hours, don’t forget to grab the show program notes, McDonalds is an amazing place for people watching at 11PM, shows never start on time, everyone is pretty in person… I could go on.

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had a great time with a bit of snow (not much I know, but it’s something), out of town guests and lots of fun playing games on the wii – it’s amazing what you come up with to do when there’s no internet all weekend long! I also spent a lot of time with the puppy and wore the BaubleBar necklace below almost everywhere. Isn’t it great?

Exciting news!
