Earlier this week, I stopped by the Madewell store in Georgetown to check out their new event space called Our 2nd Story. It was also the launch of Madewell’s collaboration with The Cambridge Satchel Company – a fantastic company that makes seriously great bags – and they celebrated with on the spot live monogramming! The new space will be used for rotating shop-in-shops throughout the year to come, as well as events hosted by bloggers, influencers and local creatives – so cool, right?

Forever 21 Tysons

Over the weekend, Forever 21 opened a newly remodeled and expanded store (over 26,627 square feet) at their Tyson’s Corner location (1961 Chain Bridge Rd). And it’s just in time for fall! I’m loving their fall collection (see below), which features trends like oversized, luxe boho, minimalist and textured, with lots of knits in camels and grays, plus prints. Also, don’t miss The Outerwear Edit, featuring Anja Rubik.

Intermix Anniversary

As you probably know, last night I was out at the Tysons Galleria Intermix store to celebrate their 1 year anniversary at that location! In case you missed it, see this post for a bit of my history/love with Intermix and some of my favorite pieces at their Galleria store right now. Mad Men Sketches At The Smithsonian

I think it’s safe to say that nearly everyone is a fan of Mad Men. While I’ve only watched a few episodes myself (totally need to fix that) I’ve loved what I’ve seen – including the costumes! And amazingly, you can catch Emmy Award-winning costume designer Janie Bryant, best known for her designs on Mad Men, as she is interviewed Sept. 9th by cultural historian Amy Henderson at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. Bryant will “discuss her inspirations behind the costumes she designs for Mad Men and how the show has influenced contemporary style,” after which participants can view a selection of Bryant’s original sketches (examples below!) while sipping Mad Men-inspired cocktails. New Muleh Location

Those who know me, know how much I love the U Street and 14th Street neighborhoods in DC (you can view my city guide here, though it does need to be updated). One of my favorite shopping spots is Muleh, which just opened a new store at 1821 14th street! Muleh features selections from designers like Phillip Lim 3.1 and By Malene Birger, hard to find international brands like Viviane Westwood’s Anglomania and Red Label, Smythe, and Lizzie Fortunato, along with furnishings, lighting and home accessories (from Kenneth Cobonpue, Hive and Ango). If you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to check it out!

Spanx Star Power

At The Races

Bethesda Front Row

On Friday, I ventured up to Bethesda for a book signing and fashion show during The Front Row series of events at Bethesda Row. Jessica Alba was the special guest while boutiques from the area showcased clothing and accessories. This is always one of my favorite events and this year was no different! So fun!

Bishop Boutique Lookbook

The girls behind one of my favorite DC blogs, SpicyCandyDC, just released a lookbook collaboration with one of my favorite Alexandria stores, Bishop Boutique - so of course, I couldn’t wait to share! Located right in Old Town, Bishop Boutique is an incredibly chic store offering a unique selection of shoes, handbags, and amazing accessories – you may remember I hosted their anniversary party in October! I love that the lookbook featured some amazing bloggers, including Abbey Brandon of District Dress Up, Alison Conglianese of Chain Strap Purse & Bryarly Richards of Everything that Flickers. Nordstrom Rack Downtown

Yesterday, I stopped by the Nordstrom Rack in Downtown DC (18th and L NW) for a sneak peek of the new 122nd Rack location. There was a really great selection of clothes, shoes, denim, cosmetics, handbangs and more – think Trina Turk, Paige Denim, Vince, Kate Spade, etc. If you are interested in stopping by, they open at 8AM tomorrow with breakfast treats, complimentary totes and contests!

Weekend Recap

I’m sure I’m not the only Washingtonian who is in need of an extra weekend day to recover from all the White House Correspondents’ Dinner events. It was a pretty amazing weekend, from the Rock the Vote kickoff party, to a Nats game, brunch, and even the Cap File party. Oh, and in case you missed it (follow me on instagram here), I was on TV last week wearing a gorgeous Rent-the-Runway gown! Always fun!

Inaugural Style

If you follow me on twitter or instagram, you may have noticed that I was on television last week modeling inaugural style for Fox 5 DC and Rent the Runway. Rent the Runway was in town for the weekend giving DC ladies the chance to try on dresses before placing their order to rent, and it was so much fun trying on the different options! It’s definitely gala season and (especially for DC – inauguration!) the perfect time to find an occasion to get dressed up.

Lunch With Tiffany’s

Yesterday, I attended a special holiday luncheon to celebrate Tiffany’s 175 years. Now I know breakfast at Tiffany’s is pretty special, but lunch with Tiffany at Blue Duck Tavern was an absolutely amazing experience. Not only did I get to try on some incredible jewelry (that emerald cut ring was to-die for), but the team at Blue Duck Tavern took out all the stops, serving us delicious food and even preparing a celebratory Tiffany styled chocolate cake! Talk about making a girl/group feel special!

FW At Redeem

Last night, we celebrated the holiday issue of FW magazine (in which I modeled and put together this gift guide) with a small gathering at Redeem. I absolutely love this store and had an absolute blast chatting with friends. If you are in the DC area and need to do some holiday shopping, I highly recommend checking out Redeem! They have some great stuff (especially for guys right now).

Warby Parker Class Trip

Last week, I had the chance to stop by Warby Parker’s school bus/traveling showroom – they are traveling to nine cities over the course of six months on a “Class Trip” that includes New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, San Diego and Los Angeles. Inside the bus you’ll find leather sofas, vintage books, and the full line of Warby Parker eyeglasses and sunglasses.

Wink Party

The Drybar In DC

The Drybar has opened in the DC area, and I couldn’t be more excited! With locations in Georgetown and Bethesda, the “blow dry bars” offer five different blowout styles for just $40. And founder Alli Webb (along with her brother, Michael Landau and husband, Cameron Webb) has thought of everything. Is your phone dying (mine was)? The marble bar features built-in iPhone docking stations. Not feeling like a magazine? There are flat-screen TVs with movies playing. Did it unexpectedly rain? They have umbrellas! Hungry? There are snacks! Prefer a cozy, more private room? There’s a side VIP area perfect for parties!

Intermix Party With Passion Pit

INTERMIX is a favorite store of mine, so on Tuesday night, I stopped by to celebrate the relocation of the Georgetown INTERMIX store to Cady’s Alley. The new store looked great, the clothes were fantastic, the cocktails delicious, and the music was amazing – it’s not every day you get to shop while Passion Pit DJs a set of their music! Yes, PASSION PIT! And I took tons of photos!
