We got really lucky in DC with few problems (though the storm did alter my birthday plans), but I’ve been thinking of my friends in NYC and elsewhere who were not so fortunate! It’s really feeling like fall these days! Thankfully, it’s Friday and I can relax and enjoy it this weekend! I’m thinking, a baseball game, apple picking, pumpkin carving and good brunches. Windows open, great tunes playing (especially after seeing the amazing Ben Howard in concert on Tuesday) – it’s been the perfect fall week. I still have something like a gazillion emails to catch up on from when I was in NYC, but it’s almost there. I have a feeling this weekend will help!

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to sleep in tomorrow! It’s been a busy week – there was the DC Scout happy hour (don’t forget to sign up here for Monday’s – it’s the last one!), then the beauty event at Neiman Marcus, and – the highlight of my week – a trip to Virginia wine country for a night of sips and style. …It was great to get together with Marta for dinner (we made chicken parm and these green beans) and later in the week, Nikki. Just what I needed.
…I didn’t even know that there was an “Oz” movie in the making – with Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz, PLUS James Franco? After watching the trailer on Coco’s Tea Party, I’m excited.
…This Time Tomorrow has been killing it lately. Love the last few looks!
…Also loving this bright skirt on District of Chic!
…Speaking of skirts, I went on a bit of a pinning/window shopping spree last night. You can find everything I’m wishing for on pinterest here and shop here.
…I loved this post on High Heeled Traveler about her cowboy boots. Perfect timing as I’ll be line dancing and mechanical bull riding this weekend at this event.
…A few things for your calendar: Carine’s Bridal Atelier is having a summer sample sale on Thursday, July 19 from 5-8PM. There is a “buyers mixer” on July 17 from 6-9pm at Bar 7. And on Friday, July 20, renowned designer, Michael Aram, will make a personal appearance to help kick off Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale at Tysons Corner.

Phew! It sure has been a LONG, but amazing, week! I got back from Wisconsin, met Tinsley Mortimer at an event in Georgetown, previewed the Styleliner, and was even on television! If you haven’t seen the clip yet, you can watch it here – but I’ll be sharing more details and photos next week! It was a super early morning, but so fun to model Rent the Runway dresses on TV with the lovely Caitlin, Sai and Sophie!

Happy Friday from Wisconsin! And first, because I know you are all dying to know, I’m happy to announce that Natalie is the winner of the Sweetlife tickets! But thank you SO MUCH to everyone who entered! I loved hearing all the ways you plan to live more green (convincing your dad to let you drive the Prius, teaching your friends to recycle, taking public transportation, recycling those wine bottles)! Being environmentally friendly is always in style, after all. I just wish I had tickets for everyone!

TGIF is right! I’m still recovering from NYC (really just need some sleep) so am beyond thankful it’s Friday. But I hope you’ve had a great week! It’s been a bit of a crazy week, especially with all the updates over at CapFABB! I can’t believe it’s been ONE whole YEAR since Lacey and I decided to get a few girls together for drinks and start a listserv for DC area fashion bloggers. Today, we have over 350 members and hold some pretty awesome events, and I’m SO thankful for everyone that’s been so supportive – this fashion blog community (in DC and everywhere else too) is truly amazing!
