I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing a lot of matching sets/separates around these days (i.e. Glitter Guide, WhoWhatWear, Refinery29) and they are really growing on me. It’s such a fun alternative to a printed dress, and usually incorporates the crop top trend to boot! Plus, I have to imagine you can get more use out of them by mixing them up with other pieces. (Really) Cold Weather Style

I’m sure you’ve heard enough weather talk – but it is COLD out there! Admittedly, it’s not as bad in DC as it is everywhere else (did you watch the Packer game?). So while I could (maybe) get away with wearing the coat below, don’t think I don’t know that most of you will hopefully be wearing something heavier (right, Mom?)! New York Fashion Week Inspiration

I can’t believe that New York Fashion Week starts next week (the same week law school classes start – eeek)! And even though it might not be my smartest decision, I will be heading up to NYC for the weekend for a packed couple days of shows and events. Now that my schedule is set, the most important part of planning? What to wear! Below are some of my ideas. Sweatshirt Style

My love of the sweatshirt look started right before the “lover” sweatshirt became mine – and now, it seems I can’t get enough. I mean, who knew sweatshirts could look so chic? If you’re looking to try this style out for yourself, I’d recommend the Manifesto lover sweatshirt of course, or this one or this one or this one (Zoe Karssan kinda nails it). They are a bit pricey, but I promise, you’ll end up wearing them everywhere – around the house or with a skirt and heels. Again… who knew!?

Cold Weather Stripes

Back in September, I predicted stripes would be big for spring. And recently Refinery29 agreed with me: “Yes, vertical, horizontal, thick, skinny, or diagonal—it seems it will soon be impossible to escape this classic-yet-of-the-moment print.” I mean, you really can’t go wrong, right? Even in this colder weather!

How To Wear: Leopard Coat

I love leopard. And just a few weeks ago, I snatched up my first leopard coat thanks to a super sale. Ever since, I’ve been obsessed with finding more ways to wear it (most recently, I wore it to NYFW – see here). Luckily, there are countless images for inspiration. Obviously, all black + leopard always works, but I also love the burgundy pants, red beanies, rocker tees and even patterns that go so well with a leopard coat. What do you think? Would you rock a leopard coat?

How To Wear: Monochromatic

Lately I’m loving the look of head-to-toe (or close to it) color. To master the monochromatic look, it’s easiest to choose neutrals (though I love the burgundys and reds). Plus, you can always mix textures and add a pop of color with a fun necklace or clutch. I love the idea of an all black look with white heels. So fun!

Leather Moto Jackets

These days I’m completely obsessed with the look of leather (or faux leather) moto jackets. I love how easy and chic they are no matter what you are wearing – and since I avoid my winter wool coat until the last possible second, it is the perfect way to bundle up without going overly bulky. Though black may be the most versatile option, there are so many colors to choose from. I’ll be picking up a tan version ASAP!

I was lucky enough to snag this Christian Dior shirt at the Edited for Goodwill pop-up shop last night, but my absolute favorite classic white shirt right now is The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens (it has patented technology to keep away any gaps between the buttons and fit perfectly!). Last week I was on the hunt for some printed shorts to go with a new neon shirt. I now want printed shorts to go with everything. I love how you can wear them with just a simple tee or dress them up with a jacket. And with pops of color, the prints really stand out. I’m pretty sure these J.Crew shorts will be mine before too long, though I’m dreaming about these Milly ones. Seriously. Dreaming. I mean, they’re chevron!

Last week I posted several different summer styling ideas. One of those ideas was a short skirt + blouse, and I’m definitely still loving this look. To switch it up, swap the blouse for a graphic tee. Just add bright accessories and great heels, and you are totally put together for any summer day! All I need now is the perfect shorter skirt!
