Last month, I took a trip to Spain with my sister – we spent three full days in Madrid, and another three full days in Barcelona. Spain had definitely been on my travel list, and we had the most amazing time! Both cities were absolutely beautiful, with wonderful food and music and people. I know a lot of people that prefer one of the cities over the other, but I honestly loved both. For more from the trip, you can find saved stories on Instagram. Tulum Travel Guide

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been obsessing over my Tulum trip. I’d been interested in visiting for awhile now, ever since seeing a few blog posts and some amazing photos, and it honestly did not disappoint. In fact, it was even better than I’d hoped! The beaches were absolutely beautiful, food and drinks were fantastic, and everything just felt eclectic/relaxed/eco-chic somehow, especially our home/hotel while we were there – Ahau Tulum. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We did yoga in the morning, stayed right on the beach, and easily walked to our favorite restaurants.

Gift Guide: For Her

I always draw a blank when I start to think about what I want for Christmas… until I get going! Here are a few of my favorites for her (inspired by my recent brainstorming) – you really can’t go wrong with cozy pajamas, warm scarves (whether plaid or ANY one of these), or other fun accessories. A silk pillowcase is a bit of luxury she probably wouldn’t think to buy herself (plus, bonus sleep mask!), while a fragrance collection lets her try out new scents. And a pretty frame is just perfect.

As promised, I’m sharing a few more photos from Paris today! Because I was traveling alone (and take horrible selfies), I reached out to a photographer I had seen on a few other blogs (see this beauty and this one), and whose work I LOVED, to see if we could get together for a portrait session while I was in the city. Everyone – if you are in Paris, you must meet up with Katie of Katie Mitchell Photography! She made me feel completely comfortable and we had the best time wandering around Paris! I couldn’t be happier about how the photos turned out. So… who wants to move to Paris with me?

Paris Part 1

I can’t believe it’s already been two weeks since I was in Paris! Honestly, it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. There was something really exciting about traveling alone – it was certainly a challenge to be completely by myself (without access to phone or internet during the day), attempting to speak French, and trying to find my way around, but I felt really brave and centered and just lucky. And everything went so smoothly! I arrived in Paris on a Thursday morning, found my apartment in Le Marais, and immediately went to a cafe for a croissant and coffee (of course). Other than cafes, I spent a lot of time reading in gardens, drinking wine, wandering around the Seine, and really just absorbing as much as possible. If you follow me on facebook, you know that I’ve been doing a lot of traveling this month. I just got back this week from an amazing vacation in Charleston and I’m still a bit in denial about getting back into the swing of things. Luckily, I am headed to NYC this weekend for a quick girls getaway, and then I leave for Paris one week from today! While I’m going to try really really hard to get a few non-life posts up this month, be sure to follow me on instagram for updates, and for now, here are a few Charleston photos!

If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen some of these already, but I just thought I’d share a few updates. Between finishing settling in to the new apartment, a quick trip to NYC, and really just being out and enjoying summer as much as possible, it’s been a great few weeks! Specifically, loving these new towels, this new restaurant, and this coffee spot. Also, I’m getting ready to head to Wisconsin and Michigan later this week and am planning trips to Charleston and Paris for next month – if you have any tips, be sure to let me know!

This past week was my law school’s spring break, and (coincidentally) it was also my work’s annual convention in New Orleans. So while it wasn’t much of a break, it was nice to get away for a bit! Especially since I think the next month is going to get pretty rough – lots of school and work stuff going on! But I’m planning to keep posting (at least two fun projects coming up!), and you can always follow along with me on twitter and facebook. And of course, follow me on Instagram! Happy Sunday!

Was it just me, or was this a reallllly long week? Classes started for the semester (taking Constitutional Law and Contracts this spring) and the cold made it so hard to leave the house! Plus, after the holidays, catching up at work is always rough, right? That said, I’m really looking forward to a weekend full of brunching, sleeping in, studying, and celebratory drinks with good friends! I honestly don’t know if I could be more excited for Thanksgiving this week. I’m looking forward to a short break from school, lots of food and wine, and seriously catching up on sleep and time with friends. And as cold as it is, I’m actually kind of excited for that too. When Carla and Marshall of The President Wears Prada partnered with Ashley Turchin to start an online boutique, ANTHOM, I knew it would be amazing – and it is. I can’t believe it’s already August. It’s been a pretty fantastic summer, though, and it’s certainly not over yet. I still have one month for fun, including a trip to Charleston and some amazing events! Then it’s New York Fashion Week and the start of law school… crazy!

Three Years

I can’t believe it’s been three years since I started this blog. 1,000+ blog posts later, and I still love it as much as I did when I started. Obviously, a number of things have changed since then, especially within the past several months (new job + law school). But for anyone who has asked, I absolutely intend to keep this all going – it simply brings me too much joy!
