Matching Sets

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing a lot of matching sets/separates around these days (i.e. Glitter Guide, WhoWhatWear, Refinery29) and they are really growing on me. It’s such a fun alternative to a printed dress, and usually incorporates the crop top trend to boot! Plus, I have to imagine you can get more use out of them by mixing them up with other pieces. Happy Friday! I’m so so excited for the weekend. It looks like it’s going to be a hot, sunny few days and I plan on being poolside for as much of it as possible. Plus, I’m looking forward to brunches, finishing the book I’m reading, a few more apartment projects, and relaxing. You? Fun weekend plans?

Kimono Style

I feel like I’ve been seeing kimono style tops, jackets and dresses around a lot lately (ASOS has a ton). Obviously this isn’t something I could really wear during the workweek (but maaaaybe), but it’s growing on me for a fun vacation, concert, or beach-y look. What do you think? Would you try this look?

Work Wear

As it gets warmer, it gets harder and harder to dress for work. But now that I’m settled and have access to my clothes again (joys of moving), I’m hoping to step it up a bit this summer. I’m loving the look of pencil skirts and blazers in lighter colors, crisp white shirts, and billowy or wide legged pants – of course, it’s easy to say that now. I’m sure my game plan will change come 90 degree July/August!

(Really) Cold Weather Style

I’m sure you’ve heard enough weather talk – but it is COLD out there! Admittedly, it’s not as bad in DC as it is everywhere else (did you watch the Packer game?). So while I could (maybe) get away with wearing the coat below, don’t think I don’t know that most of you will hopefully be wearing something heavier (right, Mom?)! Cold Weather Style

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in need of some serious cold weather style inspiration. Since I work in an office every day, and then head to class every night, figuring out what to wear in the morning has gotten especially tricky (and I usually just end up wearing slim black pants, heels and a sweater…). In addition to the photos below, I’m thinking this J.Crew coat would help (currently on sale!), and already ordered this scarf. So I have that to look forward to! Which is nice!

Light Lace

Ever since I posted this photo of Olivia Palermo wearing a light lace dress, I’ve been noticing lace outfits more than before. I love how easy they look, whether it’s a dress or a shirt – and I’m seriously loving this Joie shirt, but Madewell has a less expensive one that is nice too. Also, there is this dress (and everything I posted about here, too). Now, I just need to pick a look and try it out! What do you think?

New York Fashion Week Inspiration

I can’t believe that New York Fashion Week starts next week (the same week law school classes start – eeek)! And even though it might not be my smartest decision, I will be heading up to NYC for the weekend for a packed couple days of shows and events. Now that my schedule is set, the most important part of planning? What to wear! Below are some of my ideas. Spring Street Style

Style Crush: Coachella

Sweatshirt Style

My love of the sweatshirt look started right before the “lover” sweatshirt became mine – and now, it seems I can’t get enough. I mean, who knew sweatshirts could look so chic? If you’re looking to try this style out for yourself, I’d recommend the Manifesto lover sweatshirt of course, or this one or this one or this one (Zoe Karssan kinda nails it). They are a bit pricey, but I promise, you’ll end up wearing them everywhere – around the house or with a skirt and heels. Again… who knew!?

Cold Weather Stripes

Back in September, I predicted stripes would be big for spring. And recently Refinery29 agreed with me: “Yes, vertical, horizontal, thick, skinny, or diagonal—it seems it will soon be impossible to escape this classic-yet-of-the-moment print.” I mean, you really can’t go wrong, right? Even in this colder weather!

How To Wear: Monochromatic

Lately I’m loving the look of head-to-toe (or close to it) color. To master the monochromatic look, it’s easiest to choose neutrals (though I love the burgundys and reds). Plus, you can always mix textures and add a pop of color with a fun necklace or clutch. I love the idea of an all black look with white heels. So fun!
