Everyone needs a fun little black dress for the holidays (I think I found mine) – just add some great accessories to change up the look and make it more special! I visited Charming Charlie for the first time recently, and was so impressed with their incredible (and super affordable) selection of jewelry, bags and even shoes. I picked up these sparkly pieces because I knew I wanted a more glam look (plus, I would totally wear this necklace with a regular t-shirt for fun) but there were lots of other colorful options!

I promise this is the last NYFW post I’m planning, and definitely the last time you’ll hear me talk about spring collections until, well, spring! But I thought I’d quickly wrap things up before moving on entirely – you can catch all my NYFW coverage here, including Christian Siriano, Mara Hoffman, Rebecca Minkoff and more! I also attended the Son Jung Wan, Herve Leger and Catherine Malandrino shows, but as my camera had died, figured I’d leave the reviews to the pros. Style Crush: Veronica

Before I get into why I love Veronica and her blog, Bittersweet Colours, I have a favor to ask! I’ve been doing some thinking about the few reoccurring series I have here and brainstorming new ones (right now I have Outfit + Occasion, Style Crush and my weekly Happy Friday recaps). I’ve been doing “Style Crush” posts since February of 2011 and have covered faves from Taylor Tomasi Hill to Emily Weiss – typically fashion insiders, editors, models or celebrities. So my question is, are you digging the current focus or would you like to see more bloggers, like Veronica, featured? Or maybe you’d like to see real DC/NYC area people? And if I feature people who are more accessible, would you want to see an interview aspect (or do you get enough of those already)? Or should I keep “Style Crush” as is and create a new feature series? These are the questions that keep me up at night (not really)! Any feedback would be such a help! How to Wear: Pink Jeans

I have to admit, in this heat I haven’t thought much about jeans, but when a friend emailed about how to style her new pair of pink jeans, I jumped at the chance to help. I’ve posted before on colored denim for spring, but I’m really loving all the ways I found to wear hot pink pants in every season (yes, even winter). For now, I think it looks perfect with a striped top and bright bag, chambray and leopard, peach and gold chains, or with a black tee and boucle jacket. I’m also loving this ensemble via the Budget Babe. Right?

For the few times I did brave the heat, figuring out what to wear was nearly impossible. And I was having the very same trouble this time last year! What to do!

All Flared Up

I can’t really remember the last time I wore flared jeans and loved it – but these white jeans are fantastic. Even though I always love the look when I see it (like this, this, or this), I usually stick to skinny jeans. These jeans fit perfectly, and especially with heels (I think/feel) are pretty flattering. Plus, what better combo than white, navy, and a pop of pink!

Stripes and Green

I know there’s not much to this outfit, but this striped dress is my go-to summer dress, and I absolutely love it paired with a bold, green bag (and/or leopard, or floral, or fun belt). If you’re not familiar, Olivia + Joy has some great bags at super affordable prices – in addition to this green one, I’m loving this one, this one, and this great red one.

87th Virginia Gold Cup

On Saturday, for the fourth year in a row, I spent my day at the Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase races in The Plains, Virginia. This year was especially fun as I was a judge for the hat contest along with my friends and fab bloggers Caitlin and Makeda! There were so many amazing hats! Outfit + Occasion: Horse Races

It’s horse race season – and whether you’re hosting a derby themed party or headed to the Kentucky Derby or the Virginia Gold Cup Races (like me!) you’ll need the perfect outfit! I mean, what other occasion do you have to get dressed up and wear a big hat? My favorite look is usually a feminine yet comfortable dress (light colors or prints, sleeveless with a fuller skirt) with flats or wedges (no stilettos in the grass, ladies) – and a fantastic hat (or fascinator), of course. This year, I’m honored to be a judge for Gold Cup’s official hat contest! So if you’ll be there, be sure to say hi and wear your best hat! Style Crush: Poppy Delevigne

Whether you knew who she was or not, I imagine you’ve seen and loved an outfit worn by British model Poppy Delevigne. Isn’t she absolutely lovely? That leather jacket and maxi skirt shot is one of my favorite images. Plus, you’ve got to love the wide-legged yellow pants – they have me seriously considering investing in something similar!

Easter Weekend Picks
