Since my last post, I finished finals (and the spring semester!), took the absolute best trip to Napa and San Francisco (see photos on Instagram!), and started summer class (bummer). I can’t believe it’s already June! But I couldn’t be more excited. I love summer, and this one, in particular, was/is needed. So to celebrate, here are a few of my favorite summer things right now!

Matching Sets

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing a lot of matching sets/separates around these days (i.e. Glitter Guide, WhoWhatWear, Refinery29) and they are really growing on me. It’s such a fun alternative to a printed dress, and usually incorporates the crop top trend to boot! Plus, I have to imagine you can get more use out of them by mixing them up with other pieces. See below for some of my faves!

Happy Friday! I’m so so excited for the weekend. It looks like it’s going to be a hot, sunny few days and I plan on being poolside for as much of it as possible. Plus, I’m looking forward to brunches, finishing the book I’m reading, a few more apartment projects, and relaxing. You? Fun weekend plans?

Kimono Style

I feel like I’ve been seeing kimono style tops, jackets and dresses around a lot lately (ASOS has a ton). Obviously this isn’t something I could really wear during the workweek (but maaaaybe), but it’s growing on me for a fun vacation, concert, or beach-y look. What do you think? Would you try this look?

Work Wear

As it gets warmer, it gets harder and harder to dress for work. But now that I’m settled and have access to my clothes again (joys of moving), I’m hoping to step it up a bit this summer. I’m loving the look of pencil skirts and blazers in lighter colors, crisp white shirts, and billowy or wide legged pants – of course, it’s easy to say that now. I’m sure my game plan will change come 90 degree July/August!

Summer Beauty

Later this week, it’s supposed to get up towards 100 degrees in DC. Yikes. Time to grab your fave summer beauty products that beat the heat and a cold, cold drink. I’ve been keeping things pretty simple these days, with the most amazing concealer by Perricone MD (seriously – read this post by my friend Kara on her blog Politics of Pretty for more info) and tinted moisturizer. Plus, some blotting paper to combat shine and eyeliner that won’t melt. But to check in on what everyone else is loving, I took to twitter and got some great suggestions for new products to try!
