Now I know breakfast at Tiffany’s is pretty special, but lunch with Tiffany at Blue Duck Tavern was an absolutely amazing experience. Not only did I get to try on some incredible jewelry (that emerald cut ring was to-die for), but the team at Blue Duck Tavern took out all the stops, serving us delicious food and even preparing a celebratory Tiffany styled chocolate cake! Talk about making a girl/group feel special!

Tiffany & Co. What you may not know, is that it is in celebration of Tiffany’s 175th anniversary and features the new RUBEDO™ metal, which combines “the richness of gold, the brilliance of silver and the warmth of copper.” It’s beautiful!

photograph not archived

photograph not archived

To get the metal, metallurgists at Tiffany’s experimented with different ratios of gold, silver and copper over a long testing period until they achieved the desired golden-pink color and glow. The metal is also super lightweight (but durable) and polishes to a smooth shine. And it seems only proper in celebration of Tiffany’s anniversary year, they debuted it in Tiffany 1837™ designs, inscribed with the signature of founder Charles Lewis Tiffany.

A Tiffany’s Party

I’m not sure there’s a girl out there who hasn’t dreamed of getting that iconic blue box to open at some point or another – so what better time than the holidays to check out the latest that Tiffany’s has to offer! The lovely team at their Chevy Chase store invited a handful of bloggers to try on pieces, sip champagne and learn even more about the great American jeweler (did you know the company was started in NYC in the 1830s with just $1,000?). There was so much more to admire than their diamond rings (though taking off that classic Tiffany’s solitaire diamond ring was tough)!
